The National
Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has come a long
way since its inception in the year 1994. During this short
span of period NAAC has been able to instill a momentum of
quality consciousness amongst Higher Educational
Institutional perception of quality and now it becomes an
integral part of educational system. In order to maintain
this momentum of quality consciousness in our higher
educational institutions, the Directorate of Higher &
Technical Education has established a State Level Quality
Assurance Cell in the Directorate in November, 2003 with the
financial assistance from NAAC, Bangalore. The SLQAC
Co-ordination Committee headed by Honble Minister
(Education), was also constituted in the same year. Since
then, the cell has been constantly monitoring the quality
improvement in the institutions of Higher & Technical
Education of the State. As a part of this. Internal Quality
Assurance Cell has been set up in all Govt, Colleges, |

Mission
To
arrange for periodic assessment and accreditation of
institutions of higher education or units thereof, or
specific academic programmes or projects:
To stimulate the academic environment for promotion of
quality of teaching- learning and research in higher
education Institution
To encourage self-evaluation, accountability, autonomy and
innovations in higher educations;
To undertake quality-related research studies, consultancy
and training programmes and
To collaborate with other stakeholders of higher education
for quality evaluation, promotion and sustenance,
